Shopify POS – sell more than just online

POS (point of sale) is a system and tool aimed at supporting sales by creating new product distribution channels.

Shopify as a sales ecosystem is not only focused on strictly e-commerce, but also enters the retail sphere.

What is Shopify POS?

It is an application that makes it possible to sell products in stationary points of sale. An important feature is that it can be synchronized with the Shopify online store, which allows full control over the inventory.

Shopify POS is available in two plans (Lite and Pro). In the basic version, the most important features of the application are: integration with Shopify Payments, adding and editing customer profiles, discount codes, handling cash payments in the offline channel, refunds, scanning barcodes with the camera available on a mobile device, sending receipts by e-mail or text message. In addition to the functionalities available in the Lite version, the Pro Package also has daily sales reports, local collection and delivery, product exchange, and the possibility of additional integration with the Custom View application, which allows to display additional information in the customer’s shopping cart.

What Shopify POS devices is compatible with?

This application works in conjunction with: iPhone (5s or higher with iOS 11.4 or higher), iPad Air (Generation 2 or higher with iOS 11.4 or higher), iPad (Generation 5 or higher with iOS 11.4 or higher), iPad mini (Generation 2 or higher with iOS 11.4 or higher), iPad Pro (all models with iOS 11.4 or higher) and Android 5.0 or higher devices.


Sales analysis with Shopify POS

The ‘Analyses’ tab in the Shopify POS application allows you to obtain information about, among other things, net sales, from which refunds made on the same day are deducted; the average value of the order; the average number of products added to the basket, or the ranking of best selling products.
Shopify POS is a great sales support solution that opens the way for store owners to develop two channels: online and offline.
Shopify POS is available primarily for stores located in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Ireland, but it is also possible to implement the application in all countries where Shopify supports credit card providers – a full list of these can be found at this link.
