Find out how we work - step by step:
The first step is to identify the needs of the company. We always start with a consultation, a dozen or so hours of mini-audit is enough to determine whether implementation of the PIM environment is needed. In the form of a meeting or a video conference, our experts will assess the needs of a company that plans to implement a Product Information Management system.
The second step is to determine where and how the information about the product is to be provided (ERP, data catalogs, excel sheets, online stores, etc.). We determine where and how the information will be provided (online stores, b2b, printed catalogs, price lists, mobile application, etc.).
The third step is to prepare the server environment for AWS or any other environment indicated by the customer. The server environment is configured for the latest version of Akeneo software. Then we install Akeneo.
The fourth step is to adapt the Akeneo system to the needs of the company, including changes in the code and installation of add-ons. With the data structure established in the second step, the system is individually configured (channels, maturity, families, languages, locations, currencies, features, variants, etc.).
The fifth step is to transfer the first data from the current product database (or create a new one), which becomes the basis for further work. Depending on the size of the database and location, products are imported into Akeneo's PIM via a .csv file or API communication. Once the data is in the PIM, trained users start entering or enriching content.
The sixth step is to integrate the Akeneo system into sales channels and other places where content (product content) should be distributed. At this stage, a connector to the webshop or B2B platform is implemented, which will be responsible for the content upload. In the case of Shopify or Magento, we use ready-made solutions available on the market and then adjust them to the needs of the customer.
The seventh step is to train the team and everyone involved in the maintenance and development of e-commerce. Along with the training, the workflows are finally set up on data, due dates and the authorization tree. Under the guidance of our consultants, the team starts to complete the data and exchange data.
The eighth and final stage is ongoing support. Implementation of the PIM environment requires ongoing maintenance and control. Due to the complexity and variety of channels, software updates or changes in settings may be required from time to time. Also, as the company's needs change and grow, new needs, new channels, new language versions may come along with the implemented Akeneo PIM environment.
