About the brand
Decathlon is an international network of large area French industry stores offering clothing, articles, accessories, supplements and equipment for 86 sports. The company was founded on July 27, 1976 in Villeneuve d'Ascq by the French entrepreneur Michel Leclercq. His business strategy is primarily based on own brands ("Passions Brands") and on the systematic expansion of the company's portfolio through the acquisition of well-known foreign and domestic sports brands. The first store of the Decathlon chain was opened in Poland in 2001 in the Warsaw district of Targówek. In 2019, there were over 50 stores in Poland providing employment to 3,500 people.Decathlon in Poland offers 24 products of the company's own brands, of which as many as 30 products are manufactured in Poland.
